reached there at 3am..
and the bus came at 4am..
a stranger came to me and asked if im waiting for someone..
damn.. so obvious that im not..
lol
FLQ.085

in the Shuttle bus towards Padang
reached Padang at 4.30am..
deposited my baggage and waited for the start of the race..
adrenaline rush...
called Xiong Wei and realised that he might be late..
 FLQ.086
ready
FLQ.087
set
FLQ.088
go!
along the way.. there are many sign boards that were super inspiring to me..
FLQ.089
FLQ.090
FLQ.091
the most inspiring for me...^
FLQ.092
FLQ.095
the race was great...
the first half of the Marathon is no kick for me..
running and running freely with no pain or whatsoever..
the real race started only after the halfway mark.. 21km..
there.. i reached the National Sailing centre..
there is a loop..
and after the round about..
i could see the whole stretch of marathoners behind me..
pain and aches started to kick in..
the temptation of stopping and just walk the remaining half is overwhelming...
then.. i see the Standard Chartered Marathon's Slogan, "Run you own race"
i finally able to fully appreciate this statement..
the idea is to challange oneself..
not comparing with anyone else..
they walk doesnt mean you walk..
run because you will...
its about 3 hours of the aerobatic motion..
tried some other actions and you will enjoy a pain..
great pain..
muscle are tensed up like never before..
there.. the deep heating rub come into play..
i realised lots of people's leg had that white cream on it..
so i when on trying..
OMG!!! the burning sensation.. really Deep Heat into the muscles..
and that relief some of the pains and aches to a great degree..
4 hours...
stomach starts to get hungry..
people without breakfast may faint because of that..
experienced runners long had prepared their energy gels...
and for first timers like me..
the sponsors took care of us..
boxes of energy gel was there to match the demand..
30+km .. every consecutive km felt like its longer than the previous one..
the race dont seem to end..
people around me started to give up and walk..
the runners' guild said that there will be water stations every 1.5km..
but we never seem to reach the next one...
pains and aches again..
people stopping at the side to stretch their leg muscles..
35km.. we reached around the kallang area..
buses and other vehicles had people looking at our suffering..
runspirators carrying and ringing their bells to cheer us on..
saw couple of volunteers sleeping on the side of the runner track..
which was quite discouraging..
38km..
4km more.. thinking of just give the last dash now..
but its too early when you realise its further than you expected to be
the good thing for me was to realise that making bigger steps is better than smaller ones
it reduce the pain on the knees and feet
40km...
FLQ.093
FLQ.094
F1 pit..
got amazed by the Jaguar and Ferrari
41km..
back to the starting point.. the Kids Dash event was about to start..
and there were lots of supporters cheering us to go on..
42km..
everything seems possible
and finally...

FLQ.096
met up with Xiong Wei after the race and then went home with Su Zhen............

one good thing after a Marathon for me...
a good Sleep..
no energy to think about other things..
and just goes to sleep within few minutes
unlike the usual tens of minutes..
