They just got to whack us hard

last Sunday.. all of 31st batch Naval Diver BMTee came back to Sembawang Camp as the real Naval Diver Trainee..
Monday morning..
all of us gathered in the auditorium for our class up..
up in my mind.. i was thinking that it will be a very nice event to  attend
for us to name Naval Diver Trainees at the first day of PCP..
i was definitely wrong yet another time..
names called were to make his way out and prepared for class up..
those who were not called.. are named OOCs..
we dont even have a chance to talk to them anymore..
and instructors told us not to talk to them too..
because they will have access to things that we are not suppose to know..
how sad can that be?
the new 31 mustered up and went to the shore near the jetty
there were 10 over instructors looking at us with Instructor Rai having the loud speaker on his hands..
we were all in our No.4 and next thing we know… we were all knocking the floor already
”drop! chase the rabbit in position ready! on your back! flutter kick in position already!
on your belly! on your back! on your feet! on your back! on your belly! recover!”
”its too slow guys.. its PCP already!!!”
”nvm! go to the water and get wet in the sea!”
”dont dare to wet yourself?!?!? whole lot go get wet another!”
”drop! and muster in 3s!”
”too slow too slow!!!”
”get sandy!”
”roll roll roll!!! start rolling!!”
”why your face dont have sand!!?!”
”dont test my patience guys!”
”i want a sand storm now!”
”why are you all not moving!!!”
”use your hand and scope up the sand and throw upwards!”
”you guys are not throwing! throw up high!! higher!!!”
”30 seconds out of the shore!”
”you have 1 minute to reach basketball court in push up position!”
sizing begins..
i have Shawn and Edward by my side so there was a high chance that we will be in the same boat..
yea.. im in Boat 5.. IC is Felix.. with Shawn, Edward, Wei Ming, Christopher, Ian, Fang Yong, Jonathan and myself..
Boat PT is taught to us straight away..
and the Life Jacket and Oars will be part of our lives from now on..
after the short lesson on the Boat PT..
whacking continues..
we were on the field..
the fence were looking at us..
again… “touch the fence and come back!”
”you guys place your time and you will go another"!”
”you guys got 1 minutes to come back to your Boat!”
”drop down!”
”leopard crawl to your boats!”
”touch the fence and come back!”
”prepare to up Boat!”
”where are your Oars suppose to be?!”
”drop down.. guys… your day will not end easy like that. you guys better wake up your idea from this second onwards!”
”down down down down down down..recover!”
”muster on the road!”
”1 minute be at the foyer! go!”
i think by that time.. half of the whacking has past.. but my body cant take it anymore..
medic was called.. and i lie down on the ground.. never feeling so shit before..
head spinning and spinning..
i knew the rest were already running back to the field to continue the boat PT and whack session
i cant believe i fall out at that moment..
sigh..
medic and Jitrui helped me back to the basketball court to rest..
Master Chan asked me to lie down..
Instructor Sia ordered Adrian to get ice and ice my body..
yea.. that was heat exhaustion..
but luckily.. it was a mild one..
i didnt faint.. if not the medic would be in deep shit..
while i was resting..
the sound of the whistle keep coming..
i face the field..
everyone was on the ground leopard crawling..
to secure themselves.. they need to crawl to the instructor that is whistling and grabbed their legs..
of cos.. there were so many instructors there.. and all of them got a whistle.. well well..
slowly one by one they were secure and when back to take seat in the bloody cooked up boat..
the rest of the time.. i was trying to focus my eye on a spot..
it was more difficult than i expected.. but i kept trying.. until the whole whacking session is over………………………………..
everyone gathered around..
finally.. the instructors were talking..
the whacking session was a wake up call..
its was purposely set for us at the first day of PCP …
that was really something man..
mentally we got to switch our thinking.. to overcome all the physical requirements..
NDU wrote their own rules for PCP.. hoohoo..
HOOYAH! la.. no more 20 push ups..
its 50 diamonds everytime..
we got to do most of the things in Boat level from now on..
im glad to be in Boat 5..
many of us called us the Diver’s Gold Boat..
because all of us got Diver’s gold before.. except Shawn… haha.. but he is one of the spartan too.. so.. it doesnt matter.. but for me.. i only got it once.. well.. i think im the weakest link of the Boat..

the rest of the week was pretty fine..
i guess the class performance was really good..
especially for the drown proofing test..
leave only 20+ to take the test..
and the 1k time swim in the pool..
i just got it.. timing to meet was 22mins..
i touch the wall at 21mins 58secs..
how close was that?!?!??!?
and with additional thought.. how do i complete my timed sea swim man? omg omg omg..
+++ 4k timed run and 6k timed run
and my fear comes.. for the underwater knot tying…
AAHHH!! can i implate a gas cylinder beside my lungs?
stressful weeks ahead..
Hooyah PTE LQ Fong!
